Looking back, that was an awful day. Actually a horrible couple of days that led to awe at how amazing kids are. His care at Children's was amazing, and we came home so much sooner than predicted. Reilly can be so patient and just goes with the flow. His personality served him well during this time and he just went with everything, no matter how much it sucked for him, because that's just how it was.
And then it was over, and we were home, and he was better before we knew it. I wish I had the numbers - and I'll have to weigh and measure him this weekend - but he's easily gained 8 pounds this year and grown several inches. He's grown out of two entire wardrobes and three sizes of shoes. It's been crazy.
What a trooper. I love you my little Reilly. Hugs and kisses.
| Tonight. Look really closely and you can see the tiny silver scar and two little x's. |
| Right after he came out of surgery. This photo makes me hurt. |
