Halloween in September

This was the first year Jas and I have ever had a garden. We were really excited to get out and plant some things as soon as the weather finally got nice- and plant we did. A lot. Our crop has been hit and miss but generally good for the first year, in my opinion.

One interesting thing we learned along the way is that if you plant pumpkins to early, well, they are done way before Halloween. Such is the case with the beauty we picked a couple of weekends ago. The kids had a blast scraping out the goop and we even toasted the seeds. We have two baby pumpkins in the garden now, hopefully they will ripen in time for the real Halloween.
